The St Albans Historical Museum once served as a schoolhouse in 1861. It has household items that are antique which are put up for display along with other photographs and artifacts from the Civil War. One particular room is a version of the The Family Doctor?s Office of Norman Rockwell. All the items were donated by the doctor himself who was featured in the painting.
It is a three-story building that is set in Renaissance Revival design for a structure. The group that is managing the operations of the museum is the St Albans Historical Society. They decided to make the ancient building a museum so that it can grow and be beneficial for the purpose of educating the younger generations.
