The American Armored Foundation Tank Museum located in Danville, Virginia is one of the most interesting military museums in the United States. It was founded in 1981 as a not profit organization aiming to collect, preserve, display and educate the public about the different military and Calvary tanks. The museum wants to let the public experience the importance that tanks have contributed to the history of the military. The AAF Tank Museum has an impressive collection of tanks dating back to the first time that tanks were involved in military operations.

The museum further displays different exhibits like arms, artillery pieces, different tank and Calvary uniforms from all over the world, AAF toys, even character exhibits such as Elvis Presley?s military years, and the Eva Braun Exhibit. All in all the museum displays and exhibits over 30,000 international tank and Calvary artifacts that date as far back as 1509 to the present. The AAF Tank Museum is open from Monday to Saturday, at 10am until 4pm. There is an admission charge of $10 for adults and $9.50 for under age 12 and above 60 years old.
