Men serve in the frontlines of the war. Not far alongside them are courageous women who risk their lives and limbs in order to defend the flag. To honor and commemorate these brave women and their roles, the Army Women?s Museum was established.

Founded on May 15, 1995, this historical and educational institution is located in Fort Lee, Virginia. It is the only museum in the world for Army women. The mission of the museum is to ?collect, preserve, research, exhibit, and interpret? historically important artifacts and other properties related to women and their military roles from all organizations, offices and branches of the United States Army from its inception to the current day. Education is the second mission of the museum, as it aims to support military training and educate women through its publications, programs, displays, and activities.
