The John Brown Wax Museum illustrates the story of militant abolitionist John Brown. In the 1800?s, Brown was aiming to free slaves through a plan that he carried out. On October 16, 1859, Brown executed the plan accompanied by 20 men. They were all fully armed as they crossed the Potomac into Virginia at Harper?s Ferry. After overpowering the watchmen in several locations, they were able to place their own guards. Brown stationed himself at the thick-walled brick building at the armory gate. He sent 6 men to seize principal citizens within the neighborhood. He incited the ones of African descent. He made them rise and join in the insurrection.

The John Brown Museum tells the story of what happened and transpired after those historical events. It features 86 wax figures that detail John Brown?s life story.
