The Maier Museum of Art displays a wide collection of outstanding works from various American artists. It sometimes lets its pieces be borrowed by other artistic institutions so that they can spread more the various forms of art as a way of educating others. It also has temporary art exhibits that are taken from other sources of art as well. All the works featured can be traced back during the 19th and 20th century.

It can be found right inside Randolph College which has been known in collecting American art pieces since 1920. It also serves as host to various special events and educational programs on a yearly basis. It also offers internships and other practicum programs for students and the community in general.
