The Museum started some 60 years ago, when the patriarch of the Wood Family, Glen, tried racing as a sport. The racing career almost did not prosper, but due to persistence and desire, Glen Wood, only after 3 years of being in an accident won 3rd place in the main event at Dan River Speedway.

In the years to come, Glen enlisted family members to work with him in the speedway including his brothers and later taken over by sons when they retired. Sons, Eddie and Len both grew up around the working shop which helped them later as they became part of the racing team.

The museum shows the triumphs, loss, and importantly the things that brought together a whole family to NASCAR history. Visitors will enjoy a look back into time on some of the most famous photos in NASCAR. Here people will get to know some of the most memorable stories in the racing industry. The museum and store is open from 9am to 5pm on weekdays.
