Aaron Neely is a well-known landowner involved in designing and building a Victorian Classic Revival farmhouse referred to as the Neely Mansion. The Neely farm was composed of 200 surrounding acres on which Neely planted an orchard and operated a dairy.
Neely and his family lived in this house for a short period of time because they found it too isolated. As they moved back to Auburn, Japanese, Swiss, and Filipino tenant farmers began to occupy the property for several decades.
In the 1970?s, the mansion had reached a state of disrepair. Some of the concerned local citizens encouraged the restoration of the mansion by forming an organization called, The Neely Mansion Association.
Today, the Neely Mansion is now included in the Washington State Register and the National Register for Historic Places. It is open for tours, weddings, and other special events.
