Lovers of cars both vintage and new will find fellow motorheads at the aptly named America?s Car Museum in Tacoma, Washington. This museum is like a very big car show that is always open. The museum contains around 600 cars in its gallery, majority of which are donations from the LeMay family, the founders and original proprietors of the museum.

Harod LeMay was the owner of the Harold LeMay Enterprises in Tacoma downtown. During his lifetime, he amassed the world?s largest car collection, a record that earned a spot in the Guinness Book of World Records. After his death, the city of Tacoma donated 10 acres of land for the establishment of a museum near Tacoma Dome to house LeMay?s still growing collection. The new museum is projected to measure about 7 hectares and will house a gift shop, restoration shop, banquet rooms, caf?, lecture halls, and of course, the gallery of LeMay?s car collection.
