The Burke Museum can be found inside the campus of the University of Washington. It is considered as a major national resource of information pertaining to the natural and cultural history of the Pacific Northwest. Also, it is the one and only major natural history museum that can be found in the Northwest.
Its collection includes towering totem poles and hand carved cedar canoes as well as the only dinosaur skeleton in the region. Other significant pieces are minerals and gems, fascinating fossils, beetles, birds, and butterflies.
The museum also offers group tours for all the exhibits, which are scheduled by appointment. It also hosts activity days wherein family-oriented activities involving crafts and other kid activities that are connected to the collections.
