The Ellensburg Rodeo is known to be one of the oldest kinds of rodeo in the land. Through time, it has earned its credibility of being one of the top 25 professional rodeos in the country. It first started back in 1923 and it has just simply started from being a simple competition in the locality. The first organizers and participants then were just the ranch owners in the land and now it has become a big time professional event.

It is now being participated by about 500 contestants and the prize money can reach to about $250,000. This is the rodeo event of the nation that features the best riders, wrestlers and ropers in the land. There are even some participants who travel from other states and even from other countries around the globe.
