Rockers and sci-fi geeks will find a common ground at the Experience Music Project and Science Fiction Museum and Hall of Fame in downtown Seattle, Washington. This museum houses the strange hybrid of rock music and sci-fi under one roof. The odd, sci-fi looking building was designed by Frank Gehry, a famous architect known for his ?distorted sheet metal? style.

The Experience Music Project (EMP, which opened in 2000, was founded by Paul Allen, Microsoft?s co-founder. The museum?s collections include mostly rock music-related stuff, such as memorabilia from Jimi Hendrix, Heart, and Seattle?s very own grunge music genre. The museum also focuses on ?experiencing? music via interactive exhibitions.

The Science Fiction Museum?s collections include Death Star model from Star Wars, Captain Kirk?s command chair, and the dome from the film Silent Running.
