The Arthur D. Feiro Marine Life Center is a nonprofit organization that seeks to educate people about marine life and conservation through a series of programs and research findings. The marine center came into existence since 1981 and is located in the City Pier in Port Angeles. It serves as the ?jewel of the waterfront? by the community due to its contributions for providing knowledge in regards to marine life.

The history of the Feiro Marine Life Center dates back in 1981 when it was built by the late Arthur D. Feiro. Mr. Feiro was known by the community as someone who enjoys marine environment and would invites children and residents to explore the Port Angeles waterfront. A former science teacher, Feiro also recognized the need for the Port as an ?educational value? due to dozens of visitors taking interest in the aquarium every summer. Building the FMLC became a reality after he and his volunteers successfully launched a series of fundraising events and at the same time, created a lasting partnership with the community through the center.

The FMLC has provided dozens of exhibits of marine ecology that includes the most popular water species straight from the Strait of Juan de Fuca. The center also offers special programs for educational purposes; this is basically offered to group of students and other civic society groups. There are a few locations inside the center that is also open for public viewing to the public as well on a regular basis, such as marine science rooms and small laboratories for studies.

The FMLC is also noted for inviting several marine experts to share insights about marine life to the community. Guest speakers include the octopus expert Jim Cosgrove, David Behrens, the author of several scientific articles on the nudibranch, and Jean-Michale Cousteau, the president of the Ocean Futures Society.
