The Gum Wall in Seattle is located in Post Alley, right under the Pike Place Market. The wall itself belongs to the Market Theater.

According to stories, the Gum Wall started back in the 90s. As people wait in line to get to the box office and buy their tickets, they also stuck gums that they?re done chewing to the wall. Attempts were made to scrape the amassed mastication off the wall, but the wall soon became an attraction that the theatre just decided to leave it be.

Today, aside from being a very popular offbeat tourist attraction, it is also a common venue for wedding photographers. Gum Wall also landed a spot in the list of top 5 germiest tourist attractions in 2009.
