The Puyallup Fair is the largest single attraction held annually in the state of Washington. The Western Washington Fair Association hosts two annual events, the 17-day Puyallup Fair every September, and the four-day Puyallup Spring Fair every April. Once officially known as the Western Washington Fair, it continually ranks in the top ten largest fair in the United States, offering a mix of old and new.

Situated south of Seattle and east of Tacoma in the shadow of majestic Mount Rainier, the Fair & Events Center comprises 160 acres, with buildings and land valued at more than $54 million. Old-time attractions include grange displays, home arts cooking contests and quilts, the International Photo Exhibition that draws entries from all corners of the globe, Hobby Hall, floral designs, and rides. On the food front, there are Fair scones, Krusty Pups, onion burgers, caramel apples, grilled corn and more. For the one seeking adrenaline, there are frog legs and fried pickles. Bigfoot Java has offers a range of popular specialty beverages.

Entertainment is always one of the main attractions. The Columbia Band Concert Series has provided a wide variety of headliners through the years, including Willie Nelson, John Legend, Adam Lambert, Heart and Kid Rock. Free entertainment stages and strolling entertainers have something for everyone. Tribute bands will offer the sounds of music legends like Neil Diamond, The Beatles and Elvis Presley. A new free entertainment feature is De?Anna the HypnoChick Hypnotist.

When it began in 1900 it attracted over 20,000 visitors. Today, the Puyallup Fair draws more than a million people from across the state and the USA. The Best of the Fair Awards is held the first three days. Guests can vote for the best burger, exhibit, BBQ, and entertainment, and have the chance to win prizes and concert tickets. The Puyallup Fair is scheduled on Sept. 9-25, 2011.
