Salty?s on Alki Beach is just one of the 3 waterfront restaurants that Gerald Robert Kingen (the founder, president and CEO of Happy Guests Inc.) opened in 1980 as part of his ever growing collection of restaurants. Now considered as one of Seattle?s landmark restaurants, Salty?s on Alki Beach is located on 1936 Harbor Ave SW which is known as the place where Seattle was born. The building used to be a flour mill that was built in 1893. Later on, it was transformed into a seafood grill restaurant called the ?Beach Broiler?. It was bought in 1985 by the Kingens and remodeled to be the third Salty?s. This strategic location of having a great view of the picturesque Seattle skyline combined with great service and servings of Seattle?s best seafood and steak, proved its worth as it gained massive followings. It ranked as the 70th in the ?Top 100 Largest Volume Restaurants in the U.S.? based on the poll made by the Restaurants and Institutions Magazine. Salty?s on Alki Beach is a must-try for those foodies who are planning to visit Seattle.
