It has a peculiar status as a ?state-run spa? in the United States. But this status is not without basis, as the Berkeley Springs State Park is directly under the state?s management. The park was constructed around its spa and bath facilities. The waters from the natural springs in the area are historically proven to have rejuvenation, as well as medicinal qualities. Local people have come here, including George Washington, to drink these waters believed to cure digestive problems or relieve stress.

The park is located at the town of Berkeley Springs in Morgan County, West Virginia. It is located on the land that has been used as a health spa since the 1750s. The water from the springs flows through Oriskany sandstones of Warm Springs Ridge, producing a clear and mineral-laden water. Visitors come here to bath, camp and picnic.
