The construction of Job?s Temple started in 1860 and finished after the Civil War, Job?s Temple can be found in Glenville, West Virginia. A hand hewn log church, it is the oldest structure of its kind in Gilmer County.

Originally, the congregation that used Job?s Temple was a part of the already existing, Pisgah Methodist Episcopal Church. Due to differences and conflicting opinions of its members, a new site was needed to avoid further problems. This gave way to the building of this historic church.

Measuring of 30 by 24 feet, Job?s Temple was used as a worship venue until 1912. Initial efforts to restore the place were campaigned from the 1930s to 50s. However, the Job?s Temple Association was only formed in 1978. IT is now listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
