The New River Gorge Bridge was built in the 70s. It is a steel-arch bridge measuring 3,030 feet or 924 meters long and 876 feet above the New River. It is also part of the highlights during Fayetteville?s one day festival, known as the Bridge Day, in commemoration of the building of the bridge.

However, aside from this annual event, the New River Gorge Bridge Walk is also attracting tourists to the area. These events happen all year round, where visitors are allowed to walk across the bridge in the walkway underneath the bridge itself. Called the ?Catwalk?, it is a two-foot wide mini bridge that runs the entire length of the steel-arch structure.

Different companies offer the New River Gorge Bridge Walks, so visitors can have their own pick at who will take care of them during such a daring adventure.
