The New River Gorge National River can be found in the south western part of the state and it cuts in between the rock to build up a gorge that reaches about 1000 feet deep. The river measures up to 52 miles long right between the Fayetteville and the Hinton. It is made up of a series of water rapids that you can explore through walking tours and more excitingly, through amazing views. The entire gorge is also spanned by the lengthiest arch worldwide that is made of steel.

The New River is known to be one of the oldest water forms one can find in the continent. The park that it is in covers about 70,000 acres of land that boasts of various natural, cultural and historical value.
