Bethany College is long considered as one of the premiere educational institution in West Virginia. However, aside from that, the college is also well known for its magnificent buildings. One of this that has been considered as a historical landmark is the Old Main building. The Old Main, as it is known among the students of the college was designed by famed architect James Keys Wilson in 1858.

One of the most notable features of the Old Main is the Commencement Hall, which serves as a venue, not only for events within the college, but also concerts and other presentations. The building complex also houses several galleries which cover a wide variety of topics, which are open to the public.
