Completed in 1857, the Pearl S Buck Birthplace Museum was once home to one of America?s greatest writers. Pearl S. Buck is the author of The Good Earth, which was published in 1931 and enabled her to win the Pulitzer Prize a year later. The novel was also adapted for the silver screen by MGM in 1937. In 1938, Buck also received the Nobel Prize for her contributions to literature. All in all, she and only one other female American writer hold the distinction for winning both prestigious prizes in history. Her complete name is Pearl Comfort Sydenstricker.

Upon visiting the museum, visitors would be able to immediately enjoy a guided tour. Also present at the site is a museum store for some souvenir shopping.
