The Youth Museum of Southern West Virginia is one of the two unique attractions of Beckley, West Virginia. It is surrounded by lawns, colourful lawns, and picnic areas that provide a relaxing ambiance to the visitors. The Museum?s main gallery consists of 4 railroad boxcars. Its central exhibit showcases about 3 different exhibits each year. These exhibits are designed to provide entertainment and education to its visitors. The T-Rex, Bats, Artists in the Studio, and Page After Page, which is an award winning children?s authors presentation, are among the exhibits that can be viewed in the Museum. Group tours also give visitors an opportunity to step inside the Planetarium, which features seasonal programs that focus on constellations, visible planets and other special celestial events.

The Youth Museum has also received the National Museum Service Award from the prestigious Institute of Museum and Library Sciences.

All in all, the Youth Museum, found in Southern West Virginia?s beautiful mountains, services the public through its rewarding, entertaining, and educational experiences that are suitable for all ages. The Museum also has its own gift shop where visitors can buy souvenirs, memorabilia, and other gift items.
