The Abraham Lincoln-Tallman House earns its marks in history by hosting Abraham Lincoln as one of its guests in 1859. Built in 1855 to 1857, the structure stands out with its Italian Villa architecture. Today, it still contains most of the original furnishings from its decade. Depicting the lifestyle of the upper class in the late 1800?s, it contains 26 rooms that are carefully detailed and reminiscent of the era.

The house was owned by William Tallman, a western entrepreneur who was believed to be the richest man in Rock County. He put a big amount of his wealth to build ?The Finest House in the Upper Midwest.?

The building is currently operated by the Rock County Historical Society and is open for visitors who want to take a tour of all its 5 levels.
