The Hamilton Wood Type and Printing Museum is recognized as the only museum dedicated to preserving, studying, producing and printing of wood type. It boasts of more than a million pieces of wood type and over a thousand styles and sizes of patterns. The Museum?s collection is said to be one of the world?s premier wood type collections.

Visitors to the Museum will see the 145-foot wall that showcases the largest wall of wood type in the world. The displays, characterized by their patterns, style, and size, are secured in cabinets, drawers and shelves.

Aside from being a learning center, the museum also serves as an enjoyable and fully functional workshop. Not only will the visitors see its massive collection of wood type from the 19th, 20, and 21st centuries, they will also get to witness an illustration of printing technologies. Among these are the hot metal type, hand operated printing presses, tools used in this craft, and many more.

The Museum also offers educational demonstrations, field trips, and workshops with the help of its volunteers as well. There are also opportunities for experimentation, which can be participated in by the artists, historians, printers, scholars, and other visitors.
