Fine dining. Limitless shopping options. Cultural and artistic exhibits. You name it, you got it, when you visit the popular residential and commercial district of Historic Third Ward in downtown Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

The Milwaukee experience will not be complete without visiting this neighborhood that was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1984. Established in 1875, what was once a swampy settlement is now a booming tourist destination and commercial and recreational area. The Third Ward is a collection of over 450 establishments such as retail stores, specialty shops, restaurants, theaters, art galleries, and apartments. The district is home to Eisner Museum of Advertising and Design, the Broadway Theater Center, and the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design. The district also holds events such as Gallery Night and Day, a quarterly art event started in 2000 that draws thousands of visitors.
