The Subaru American Birkebeiner is the biggest and most popular event for the category of cross-country skiing marathon. The distance measures about 51 kilometers right from the Cable to the Hayward City. It draws the attention of numerous cross-country skiers that arrive from all around the globe. The skiers who are interested in taking the shorter course can do their registration for the Kortelopet.

This is the sister race of the event that measures 23 kilometers and the finish line is set at the Telemark Resort. All the rest of the other activities included in the event are the sprints for short distances too that are perfect for the skiers who are elite and citizens. There is also the Jr. Birkie which is a competitive race perfect for the kids, 10 to 15 years old.
