The Casper Planetarium in Casper, Wyoming is known as the first planetarium in the state. It was founded in 1966 with a seating capacity of 71 people, featuring a modern Spitz star machine. Pictures, video and audio were slowly incorporated to the shows and gradually developed into full length features. But, the star machine remained intact for quite a long time until it was replaced in 2006 by a Konica Minolta Media Globe. It was the first full-color, all-dome, one-projector planetarium machine in the world. This change was part of the renovation that was planned after the 40th foundation day of the planetarium. Even though the star machine was updated, the original makeup of the building was not altered.

You can visit the Casper Planetarium every Saturday from 7pm to 8pm.
