Spanning a total of 9 acres of land in Lions Park, the Cheyenne Botanic Gardens is another top tourist destination in the city. It was started in 1977 as a vision of creating a non-profit greenhouse. Today, it has three greenhouses that are reliant on sustainable energy.

Aside from using green power to maintain the sub-tropical temperature of the greenhouses, the Cheyenne Botanic Gardens is also very notable for having one of the highest amounts of volunteers involved in the project. The very active community of seniors and youth makes it possible for the garden to only need a handful of staff. They also offer internships for folks in the field of horticulture, botany, and agriculture, among many others.

The Cheyenne Botanic Gardens is also one of the few of its sort in small cities.
