Boating, camping and sightseeing, Flaming Gorge has it for you. The 91-mile recreation area is perfect for a family weekend. The headwaters of the Green River are just breathtaking. This was discovered by Powell through the stunning Firehole. Everything is simply amazing. Every shot, every glimpse is priceless. Fishing is also a thrill. You can catch a rainbow trout as big as a pan. Free guided tours of the dam are administered throughout the year. The power plant is also visited. The tour is managed by the Flaming Gorge Natural History Association, all year round. Rafting downstream to the Green river from Flaming Gorge Dam can give you the adrenaline rush you?ve been urging for. It is a camper?s paradise. Wild horses, deers and elks are everywhere. Take a trip and try the tour. A whole day with Mother Earth is a great adventure.

Tourists can stopover two centers within the area. These are The Flaming Gorge Dam Visitor Center and the Red canyon Visitor Center. The former is open from April to October while the latter is available from mid-May after Labor Day.
