The Fort Laramie National Historic Site is a place that boasts a lot of genuine history. It is considered to be a grand old post that is also made to be a private trading fort for fur. This happened way back in 1834 which witnessed also the saga of the western expansion in the US. This was also the time of the Indian resistance with encroachment of their properties. The ones that have left their marks on the place were not just Indians, but also cowboys, soldiers and even the homesteaders and the gold diggers.

They also made a project to properly and digitally preserve Fort Laramie. The first phase of the project was about proper field documentations along with some laser scanning and other photography techniques so as to render a digital record of the place. It was then used to create the media form for the site?s preservation ? and all these are used to educate even the coming generations. They also came up with a lot of learning tools which are interactive.
