The Green River Valley Museum perpetuates and preserves Green River Valley?s history and culture to honor the hard working families who have contributed to building this unique community.

The Museum features different exhibits that showcase the stories from the past, the Oil and Gas Derrick, the Green River Drift Chuckwagon, and information about the Museum building. It also offers the Buffalo Trap Exhibit, Black Cabin Exhibit, the History of Big Piney Exhibit and many others.
In these exhibits, visitor to the Museum will get to see prehistoric Indian artifacts, information and items related to pioneer homesteading and townsite development, early ranching and brands, outdoor ranch equipment, area oil and gas history, historic oil field tools,. Family-operated coal mines, Big Piney Examiner presses, campfire girls display, and many others.

Inside, the 1924 Model T that is on loan to the Green River Valley Museum is available for viewing together with a buggy, which is also on loan to the Museum from the Museum of the Mountain Man.

The Museum is open from June 1 to October 15. Admission is free for everyone.
