Built around 1886 to 1890 for $150,000, the Wyoming State Capitol is one of the best known landmarks in the state. It has been declared a National Historic Landmark in 1987.

The Wyoming State Capitol can be found in downtown Cheyenne. It is built in Corinthian architecture style, with sandstones from Fort Collins Colorado and Rawlins, Wyoming. Its notable features are its dome with stained glass from England and portico. Renovations were started in 1974, and the project?s total costs amounted to $7.6 million.

Still used as a state building, the Wyoming State Capitol is open to the public during office hours. Tours are also available so more visitors can learn further about the state and the building?s history. Self guided tours are also possible with the help of the informational pamphlets available at the front desk of the building.
