Founded in 1895, the Wyoming State Museum has been in the business of gathering and preserving various relics and artifacts from different historic sites in the state. The pieces they have collected are now on display at the State Museum and continuously teach every visitor about the history, way of life and culture of Wyoming’s past until the present day.

The Wyoming State Museum also hosts several short-term exhibits every year in addition to its permanent displays of dinosaur relics, coal, relationship of humans and wildlife, early settlements in Wyoming, among others. Aside from these, the museum also rents out some of its mobile exhibits to schools, museums, libraries and others.

Entrance to the museum is free of charge since it is operated by the local government of Wyoming. Visitors may also shop at the Museum Store for local wares, souvenirs and goodies.
