The Alabama Women?s Hall of Fame is a project started in 1970 to pave a way to commemorate the great contributions of outstanding women from Alabama. It is located inside the campus of the Judson College in Marion, Alabama, inside the main floor of the historic A. Howard Bean Hall.
The Alabama Women?s Hall of Fame allows visitors to meet the women who have made big strides in the betterment of their community, field, or advocacies. The hall of fame also aims to focus the spot light on certain individuals that may have been shunned by history books because they?re women. Their tales are told through portraits, photographs, plaques, and even letters.
Some of the women included in the Alabama Women?s Hall of Fame are Tallulah Bankhead, Helen Adams Keller, Amelia Gayle Gorgas, Julia Strudwick Tutwiler, and Mildred Westervelt Warner.
