BayFest is an annual three day music festival organized each year by a non-profit organization called BayFest, Inc. People flock to Mobile, Alabama from around the country and the world, to see live performances from various local, national or international artists. BayFest offers music for every taste including classic rock, country, alternative, pop, jazz, gospel, modern rock, rap, R&B, and more.

Started in 1995 with a debut crowd of 50,000, BayFest has since become known throughout the region for its myriad list of musical talents of every genre suitable for the entire family. Previous artists to perform in the festival includes The Temptations, 3 Doors Down, Keith Urban, Ludacris, LeAnn Rimes, Nelly, Three Days Grace, Stone Temple Pilots, Cage the Elephant and hundreds more have performed the BayFest stages at a ticket price that is less than what most individual concerts cost. The BayFest takes place during the cool and comfortable weather of October. Festival-goers can stroll among historic buildings and through parks while music from the nine BayFest stages can be heard nonstop.

BayFest also features a stage called ?The Launching Pad,? which is specifically designed to showcase and support aspiring musicians. The event also includes a family stage and extensive children's activity area that has earned its own rave reviews. He BayFest has been voted Mobiles ?Best Annual Event? six times in eleven years by the Mobile Bay Monthly Magazine, surpassing Mardi Gras. Since 1995, the festival has also been names as one of the Southeast Tourism Society?s ?Top 20 Events? several times, based largely on the event?s economic impact which is estimated to be more than $185 million.

BayFest will celebrate its 17th anniversary on October 7?9, 2011 with an expected crowd of more than 200,000 guests with over 125 live musical acts on nine stages during the weekend. All ticket sales are invested directly back into the festival for upcoming events.
