The Bottle Creek Indian Mounds is a historic area in Baldwin County, Alabama. It is an archaeological site as traces of a Mississippian culture was found in the area.
The Bottle Creek Indian Mounds site features a number of elements that are integral in understanding the culture and history of the Mobile-Tensaw delta groups in the past. Some traces date back to the prehistoric times, and experts say that it was occupied around 1250 to 1550 AD. It was initially investigated in 1932 by David DeJarnette of the Alabama Museum of Natural History became interested in whether it has some relationship with Moundville, a nearby historic site.
The Bottle Creek Indian Mounds site is a National Historic Landmark as per declaration in 1994. It is also a part of the National Register of Historic Places.
