The Magee Farm is a historic site in Kushla, Alabama. It is also known as the Jacob Magee House, built by Jacob Magee in 1848.
The Magee Farm is basically a one and a half story wood frame residence in the Gulf Coast cottage style. It is noted for its historic participation during the Civil War where preliminary arrangements for the surrender of the last Confederate States Army located east of the Mississippi River took place. This was where General Richard Taylor of the Confederate army negotiated as cease fire with the Union general, Edward Canby in April 129, 1865.
The Magee Farm was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1988. It also operated as a museum from 2004 to 2010, due to lack of funds and public support.
