The Redmont Hotel is a historic commercial building in Birmingham, Alabama. It was opened in 1925 and is the oldest hotel in the city that is still in use today.
Named after the Red Mountain, the Redmont Hotel had its fair share in the growth of the city. It stood out for its modern design, most notably for having private bathrooms within it rooms, as well as ceiling fans and chilled water. It was also the home of the Rainbow Room lounge, which became the watering hole for the ?Knothole Gang?, a group of local influential figures.
Today, the Redmont Hotel still functions as a hotel, although plans to convert their upper floors into condominiums are on the way. They are also the home of the only rooftop bar in Birmingham.
