For many visitors, Alaska is often thought of as a cold and barren land. But if you think that there are no interesting landmarks in Alaska, you are mistaken, as there are a lot of these that not only showcase the land but also the people living in it. One such landmark is the Alaska Native Brotherhood Hall in the town of Sitka.
The two-story structure served as first headquarters of the Alaska Native Brotherhood. One of the first major organizations founded by native Alaskans in 1912, the Brotherhood serves to defend the rights of people in the area. Visitors here can learn more about their efforts and history through the Hall?s extensive collections of photos. There are also regular lectures given by Hall administrators.
