Visitors who can only visit the state of Alaska during the summer still have a chance to experience its chilly winters by dropping by at the Fairbanks Ice Museum. Its entrance fees are quite affordable, with discounts provided for senior citizens, military personnel, and kids 12 years old and below. Besides a spectacular full-length multimedia show, the museum also offers exciting ice carving demonstrations and an indoor winter wonderland that?s called the Ice Showcase and filled with numerous photo ops next to incredible ?icy? works of art.
The 8,000 cubic foot area is a veritable display case that visitors can explore while enjoying a 20-degree temperature. All in all, the many incredible creations found at the Ice Showcase amount to more than 40,000 pounds of Fairbanks ice.
