Considered as the largest natural bridge in the whole world, the Tonto Natural Bridge has been around for a thousand years. The bridge is 183 feet high and is situated above a tunnel 400 feet long and 150 feet wide.

Tonto Natural Bridge was believed to be a discovery of David Gowan, a traveler who accidentally came across the bridge after being chased by the Apaches. The year that David Gowan found the bridge was 1877. Twenty-seven years later, in 1898, he convinced his nephew to settle in the same mountains where the bridge was. His nephew, David Gowan Goodfellow agreed and took his family and his possessions along with him from Scotland and dwelt in the mountains.

Today, the Tonto Natural Bridge is one of the places that people visit to catch a glimpse of one of the wonders of the world.
