Built in 1918, the property was originally owned by Dr. Morgan Smith, one of the most influential senators in his time and the son of a plantation owner turned Confederate Army colonel. Now recognized as a part of the National Landmark of Historic Places, Magnolia Hill ? which is how the property nowadays is fondly called ? was exquisitely restored by its current and fourth owner, Alda & Buddy Ellis. The 31-acre property rests atop a hill that boasts of scenic views of one of the ancient railways in the state.
The award-winning site was also recently covered at the Weddings in Arkansas magazine, which printed a six-page article on the property as one of its selected venues for its Dream Weddings series.
