The Arkansas Air Museum contains numerous displays of original artifacts and aviation memorabilia. It include famous racing planes dating back to the 1920?s and 1930?s as well as an early airliner. Visitors can also view some historic aircraft. Some of these displays still function. The static displays in the museum come from the golden age of aviation up to the jet age. These consist of a Vietnam-era Army helicopters and a Navy carrier fighter. These artifacts and displays are all housed in a vast and all-wood white hangar that is a part of American history. It used to be the former headquarters of one of the country?s aviator training posts during WWII. It is also among the few existing 1940?s aircraft hangars today.
