You will find the largest spring in Arkansas and the second largest spring in the Ozark Mountains here at Mammoth Spring State Park. The spring produces 9 million water gallons every hour which then flows into a picturesque lake that is 10 acres wide. It continues to the Spring River, which is a famous trout and float stream in the Ozark Mountains.
Just beside the spring, you will find the park?s museum which was the original1886 Frisco Depot, an old train station. Outside is a Frisco caboose that visitors can also marvel at. Other features of the park include the Arkansas Welcome Center, which is the park?s visitor information center, and the remains of a mill and a hydroelectric plant. Aside from learning the park?s rich history, visitors can also enjoy the beautiful scenery by having picnics, hiking, playing in the ball field and in the kid?s playground.
