The Greenwood State Beach is a state park in Elk, California. Also known as the Elk Beach, the site is best known for its picturesque views of the Pacific Ocean.

Originally known as the Greenwood Creek State Beach, the Greenwood State Beach was renamed in 1995 into its current moniker. It was named after Britton Bailey Greenwood, some of the famous fur trapper, trail guide, and overall mountain man, Caleb Greenwood.

Visitors can enjoy swimming, fishing, beachcombing, hiking, and picnicking at the Greenwood Creek State Beach. There?s also a visitors center located at the heart of the town, with displays telling of the area?s local history. The visitors center is located in the old post office and is filled with various exhibits that depict the early life in the old lumber town.
