The Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park is a state park and recreation area in Felton, California. It is best noted for its stunning scenery and wooded areas.
Composed of 1750 acres of area, the Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park was created in 1954 after the land was donated to the state by Samuel Cowell, the last of the descendants of Henry Cowell, the original owner of the land. Cowell donated the property in condition that the other neighboring areas, owned by the County of Santa Cruz, will also be given to the state so the whole area can be managed together.
Today, the arrangement of protecting the woods still holds and the site is still primarily protected. It provides the public a venue for hiking, picnicking, camping, biking, horseback riding, fishing, and wildlife viewing as well.
