The Shasta Lake is a known reservoir created along the building of the Shasta Dam in the state of California. It is considered to be the third largest in the state right after the Salton sea and the popular Lake Tahoe. It measures about 4,552,000 acres in feet and it is located ten miles in the northern part of the Redding City. It is a favorite place of locals to spend time camping, fishing, water skiing and as simple as boating.

The lake also has a very steep shoreline of mountains that is covered with lots of huge evergreen trees along with some manzanitas. It can go as deep as 517 ft and it is also the keystone of what is called the Central Valley Project. The outflow from the said dam is what renders irrigation supply of water and electricity for the areas that are widespread in California. Not many know so much of the lake as a spot for outdoor adventures but the passionate campers and fishers are the one who is most familiar with it.
