The Bahia Honda State Park is a state park in Big Pine Key, Florida. It is best known for its historic value and stunning beaches.
The Bahia Honda State Park may have only been officially established as a state park in 1961, but it traces its history back to the early 1900s when Henry Flagler decided to help develop the Florida Keys. What was once a remote island became a popular tourist destination through the Florida East Coast Railway.
Today, people can now enjoy tons of activities on site including swimming, birding, boating, camping, canoeing, kayaking, hiking, picnicking, scuba diving, snorkeling, fishing, and wildlife viewing among many others. It is open every day at 8 in the morning until sundown.
