The Colt Creek State Park is a state park in Lakeland, Florida. It is the Florida?s 160th state park and is relatively new, being only acquired in 2006.

The Colt Creek State Park was originally the site of a cattle ranch owned by the Overstreet family. It was operated as such for more than 60 years until the state acquired it. However, it was also used for various other activities like timber harvesting, citrus production, rock mining, and turpentining. Today, the site is a perfect recreational area where visitors can enjoy camping, biking, horseback riding, fishing, and wildlife viewing. It is the proud home to many animal species including the gopher tortoise, bald eagle, Sherman?s fox squirrel, bobcat, wild turkey, and white-tailed deer.
