The Florida Postal Museum is a postal history museum in Orange City, Florida. It is dedicated to preserving the history of various postal items, history, and service.
Founded in 1992 as the DeLand Postal Museum by the Postmaster of DeLand, Florida Joe Guthrie, the Florida Postal Museum has really gone a long way since its inception. By 1996, it was recognized by the US Postal Service. The site closed down in 1997 when its post office location closed down. It was reopened in the year 2000 in the historic 1876 Heritage Inn. It was also renamed as the US Postal Service Museum after the move, but was again renamed to its current one in order for it to seek grants and donations.
The Florida Postal Museum features a wide range of displays that include postal equipment, memorabilia, and historic items that are related to postal history.
